Where to get a taste of home

If you’re anything like me, every trip home I’m drooling at the thought of a pie from the dairy, pizza flavoured Shapes, L&P, Pinky bars…the list goes on and on.

Thankfully, you can now get some treats from home in Vancouver.

    • Whittakers – you can find the biggest collection at selected London Drugs across the city, Save on Foods also stock a good range too.

Like gold bullion to us kiwis. Unpacking the @whittakersnz chocolate bars for tomorrow’s Waitangi Day celebrations in Vancouver. #vanwaitangiday2018

  • Alice and Brohm – fresh fruit icecream! This cute little caravan is run by kiwi bloke and his wife, and it’s well worth the drive to Squamish! Just like the ones you used to get on a good summer roadie.

  • Saltchuck Pie Company – another kiwi company to check out. This one is slightly further afield, so you’ll need to head to Victoria for the weekend… more time for pies, custard squares and lammingtons.

  • Peaked Pies – ANZAC bikkies are the best, I’m immediately transported back to being a kid having a bikkie out of the tin at someone’s Grandma’s house. They also do pies and a whole lot of Aussie treats too – lamingtons? YUM!
