Kiwi wine and beer will be available with Steinlager and New Zealand wine offerings.  Expect a hearty kiwi themed menu from the crew at The Blarney Stone – rumour has it pies and watties tomato sauce, Pavlova and kiwi burgers will make an appearance.

Keep an eye out, and your ear to the ground as the Kia Ora crew will be dishing out an array of Kiwi treats throughout the event as spot prizes to those up for the challenge.

This year we will be supporting two amazing charities with proceeds from the event; with a focus on native New Zealand birds in the Blue Penguin and our national animal and mascot – the Kiwi.

Kiwis for Kiwi provides funding and support for the many community-led and iwi, whānau and hapū-led groups dedicated to increasing kiwi numbers, protecting precious kiwi populations from predators, and restoring the health of their natural environment. ‘It’s our vision to take kiwi from endangered to everywhere. Because we can’t imagine New Zealand without kiwi’ https://www.kiwisforkiwi.org/donate/

The West Coast Penguin Trust has been protecting penguins, seabirds, and the NZ coastal environment since 2006.  The blue penguin or korora, is the world’s smallest penguin at about just 33cm tall, weighing a little over 1kg. Their numbers are declining due to the persistent threats from roadkill, dogs, fisheries Quick bycatch, habitat loss and introduced predators. https://www.bluepenguin.org.nz/donate
