Our annual Summer Picnic held early in June and was a success! We enjoyed a sunny day by the Second Beach pavilion, where much fun and laughter was had while enjoying a bbq (courtesy of Jeremy), Kiwi tunes and treats including our very own Vogels bread, onion dip, cheese rolls, Whittakers chocolate, lolly cake, and the hit of the day: Pavlova!
The egg and spoon race attracted many participants, and the winning team enjoyed their Kiwis and Whittakers chocolate.
It wouldn’t be a Kiwi picnic without a rugby ball being tossed around, and a mini game of cricket with a beach as a background! All we needed was a pohutukawa tree to make it a real summery picnic!
Thanks to those who came, those who brought a plate, the volunteers, our sponsors, the chefs (Jeremy on the BBQ, and Carmela for the pavlova) and a shout out to Kia Ora Vancouver team for organising the day!
